Children in grades 3 to 5 can learn the basics of American Sign Language at the Howland Public Library in Beacon beginning Monday, Jan. 8, at 4 p.m. and continuing weekly through Feb. 5. The instructor, Lydia Adams Davis, says it’s helpful to bring a practice partner.
