  1. The entire Nastasi family gives its condolences to the Budney Family and the Malarkey family in this time of grief. We all knew Nicholas as a respectful, happy and a competitor in life in general. His career shows that drive. I remember when he was 5 years old playing flag football with an awesome group of boys, too many to mention. That was an undefeated year and saw Nick grow and become a man. Nick was doing a ride along with the Putnam County Sheriff’s department years before he joined the NYPD. My wife was a little over the speed limit and pulled over. After the deputy returned to the patrol car, he asked Nick if he knew this lady. Nick said yes and the officer asked Nick if she should get a ticket. True to Nick’s hometown roots, he said, “No, I know the family.” R.I.P. Nick Budney, you were one of the good guys. Doug and Margaret: Great parents, keep the faith.
