
Rich Tomlins
Richard Tomlins Jr., 43, of Cold Spring, died Feb. 15, 2018.
He was born Feb. 12, 1975, at Butterfield Hospital in Cold Spring, the son of Richard Tomlins and Donna Steltz (Clarke).
Richie was a lifelong jokester, a 25-year member of the Cold Spring Fire Company, a member of the Local 137 of the International Union Operating Engineers, and an employee of the Putnam County Highway Department. He was avid fan of the Yankees, Giants and Notre Dame football.
Never the one to miss an opportunity make a joke at the expense of himself or others, he was always entertaining, and was the ultimate deliver of one-liners. He was a loving and caring friend, companion and relative who will be greatly missed but remembered every day.
He is survived by his daughter, Sophie Tomlins; his mother, Donna Steltz (Dave); his sister, Heather Browne (Kevin); and his brother, Matthew Tomlins (Kerrie). He also is survived by his aunts, Elizabeth Mancari and Mary Hale; an uncle, Donald Clarke; and his nieces and nephews, Matthew Richard Browne, Winter Steltz, Jax Steltz and Carter Browne. In addition, he is survived by his girlfriend, Amanda Armstrong, and her sons, Nate and Sam.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Feb. 20 at Our Lady of Loretto, followed by interment at Cold Spring Cemetery. The procession to the cemetery included a Putnam County Highway Department plow as well as Cold Spring Fire Department vehicles.
