Nominations due March 2

Nominations are open for the annual Senior Citizen of the Year Award for seniors living in Putnam County.

One man and one woman will be selected. This year’s theme is “Engage at Every Age.” Candidates must be at least 60 years of age or older and residents of the county. Employees of federal, state, county or local municipalities who provide services to seniors are not eligible. Previous recipients are also ineligible.

Two seniors from each of New York’s counties will be honored at a luncheon on May 22 in Albany. Putnam’s winners will also be honored at the annual senior volunteer ceremony.

A nominating form can be downloaded at putnamcountyny.com. The deadline is Friday, March 2. Completed forms may be emailed to [email protected].
