Lydia LaSala

Lydia LaSala, 95, of Deltona, Florida, died March 2, 2018, at her home.

Lydia immigrated to America from Poland in 1950 with her two children, John and Sophia. She subsequently met and married her husband, Tom, and they had two children, Thomas and Christopher.

Lydia, or “Baba,” as she was known by her family, was a strong-willed, energetic and loving person. She maintained a love for gardening and cooking and with regard to the latter took great pride in feeding people, who vividly recall her insisting that they “eat.”

Besides her children, she is survived by 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Clinton Funeral Home, 21 Parrott St., in Cold Spring. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with interment at Cold Spring Cemetery.

Jewel Warneck

Jewel Warneck (1941-2018)

Jewel B. Warneck, 77, a resident of Wappingers Falls since 1981 and formerly of Cold Spring, died March 1, 2018, at Northern Dutchess Hospital.

Born Jan. 28, 1941, in Berlin, New Hampshire, she was the daughter of Albert and Margaret (Carter) Bean. On June 25, 1966 in Bethel, Maine, she married John McCrillis Warneck. He died in 2014.

Jewel worked at Mother Church in Boston and was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist of Poughkeepsie. She was musically inclined with perfect pitch and played the violin and piano. She loved road-tripping and taking her family on excursions.

She is survived by her children, Amy Wade (William) of Hillside Lake; Robert Warneck (David Irizarry) of Hudson; and Scott Warneck of Poughkeepsie; her grandchildren, Garrett and Rebecca, Mara, AJ and Justin Wade; her siblings, Fifi Salway and Larry Bean; and her brother-in-law, Robert Warneck.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 9, from 2 to 3 p.m. at McHoul Funeral Home, 895 Route 82, in Hopewell Junction, followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m.
