Fitzgerald

Monday, March 12

Troopers from the Wappinger barracks arrested Edmund G. Fitzgerald, 20, of Cold Spring, for felony possession of marijuana.

Troopers stopped the suspect’s vehicle at about 10:40 a.m. on Route 9D in Fishkill for violations of the vehicle and traffic law. Police said an investigation determined the driver, Fitzgerald, possessed more than eight ounces of marijuana. Possession of eight to 16 ounces of marijuana is a felony in New York State punishable by up to four years in prison and a $5,000 fine. Fitzgerald is scheduled to appear in the Town of Fishkill Court on May 2.

Saturday, Feb. 17

Troopers from the Wappinger barracks arrested James W. Larkin, 40, of Beacon, for DWI. He was stopped in Beacon for a vehicle and traffic-law violation and arrested after troopers allege he was impaired by alcohol. He was among 24 drivers arrested on suspicion of DWI by Troop K over the President’s Day weekend.

Mondragon

Thursday, Jan. 25

Troopers from the East Fishkill barracks who were conducting commercial vehicle inspections on Interstate 84 in Beacon arrested Alex Mondragon, 23, of Paterson, New Jersey, as a fugitive from justice.

While inspecting a vehicle at 3:45 p.m., a trooper determined that the driver, Mondragon, was wanted on an active warrant for felony theft out of Sussex County, New Jersey. He was  arraigned at the Town of Wappinger Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.
