The Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response is working with residents and businesses in Beacon and five other southern Dutchess municipalities to collect information about damage caused by the May 15 storm.

The information will be submitted to the state Department of Homeland Security / Emergency Management for potential recovery funds assistance. The damage does not meet the criteria of a “major disaster” that would automatically release funds.
