Museum will offer tastings of drinks of yore

The Putnam History Museum in Cold Spring will host a talk and tasting of Colonial-era drinks and food on Saturday, June 9, as part of its ongoing Salon Series.

The discussion by author Corin Hirsch, which begins at 5 p.m., will focus on “forgotten drinks of Colonial Times” and include hors d’oeuvres such as shrub, syllabub and rattle-skull. Hirsch is the author of Forgotten Drinks of Colonial New England: From Flips & Rattle-Skulls to Switchel & Spruce Beer.

Tickets are $35 for museum members and $45 otherwise via Eventbrite.
