Soccer travel team prevails, 3-1
The Beacon Bandits, who play in the East Hudson Youth Soccer League, on June 9 dethroned the defending U12 champs, the Plainedge Roughnecks of the Long Island Junior Soccer League, 3-1, to win the Arch Cup Gold.
“We moved the ball pretty well and played possession,” said Beacon coach Mike Lenteni. “Defensively, Chris Crawford and Stephen McDowell did a really good job in the back.” Avery Davis, Brody Timm and Derek Vibrock scored Beacon’s goals.
The team was also selected by game officials to receive the Rocco Amoroso Sportsmanship Award.Did you find this article useful or informative? Please consider a donation to support our work.
