Cold Spring, June 30
Philipstown residents can show off their skills in a pie-baking contest. Drop-off entries at the bandstand between 2 to 3 p.m., when judging begins. Winners will be announced at 5:30 p.m. Zanne Early Stewart, Kevin Lahey and Lori Ely will judge on taste, appearance and creativity.
A parade begins at 4 p.m. at Main and Cedar streets and will include decorated bicycles and a patriotic pet brigade. Cyclists should gather at 3:30 p.m. on Cedar Street and will compete for prizes of $10, $15 and $25. Pets and their owners should assemble at 3:15 p.m. at Cedar Street and Mountain Avenue.
Starting at 5:30 p.m., the Breakneck Ridge Revue and the Chris O’Leary Band will perform at Dockside Park, followed by fireworks. Food will be available at the riverfront and Dockside Park throughout the day.
The rain date is Sunday, July 1.
Beacon, July 1
The City of Beacon will host its annual Independence Day celebration and fireworks at Memorial Park. The fireworks will take place at about 9 p.m.

Bannerman Island, July 3
A boat will leave the Beacon dock at 7 p.m. for a tour of the island before departing at 8:30 p.m. so visitors can watch the Newburgh fireworks from the river. The boat will return to Beacon at about 10 p.m. Seating is limited to 44 people; tickets are available at bannermancastle.org.
Philipstown, July 4
The McKeel’s Corners Chapel Association at the intersection of Route 9 and 301 will host its annual non-denominational service at 10 a.m.
Fort Montgomery, July 4
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the historic site will host camp activities and military drills.
Poughkeepsie, July 4
The Walkway Over the Hudson will be open to ticketholders to watch the City of Poughkeepsie fireworks, which take place about 9 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at walkway.org.
West Point, July 7
