Sonia Centeno

The New York State Police continue to investigate the 2006 homicide of Sonia Centeno, 44, of Poughkeepsie. Her body was found in August of that year in a shallow grave in LaGrange by passersby on Mountain Road but not identified until 2016.

Centeno was Hispanic, about 5’3” tall and 117 pounds, with a winged lion tattoo on her chest. She was reported to have been seen in the area of Main Street in Poughkeepsie during the winter of 2006.

When discovered, Centeno was wearing black high heeled ankle booties, blue fleece Okemo Ski area zip-up vest, and a dark colored tunic. The investigation indicates that Centeno may have been deceased for 3 to 7 months.
