Ashley Morgan (1987-2018)

Ashley L. Morgan, 31, a lifelong resident of Beacon, died this month at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, surrounded by her family.

Ashley was born in Cold Spring on July 9, 1987. She worked at Dunkin Donuts in Wappingers Falls. Ashley was always the life of the party and also stubborn. She found great joy playing with her nieces and nephews. She was a giving person and a registered organ donor.

She is survived by her mother, Becky Morgan; her biological father, Thomas Howard; her father, Reggie Effort III; her sisters, Heather Morgan, Sarah Morgan, Regina Effort-Robinson and Corinne Howard; her grandmother Pat “Nana” Effort; and her grandfather Reginald Effort Jr. (Pat).

Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, Aug. 29, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, 2 Beekman St., in Beacon. A funeral service will be held on Aug. 30 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Beacon.

Eileen Shea

Eileen Shea (1940-2018)

Eileen F. Shea, 77, of Hyde Park, died Aug. 20, 2018, at her home.

Born in Beacon on Dec. 18, 1940, she was the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Senchack) Antalek. She graduated from Beacon High School and St. Francis School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse for St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie from 1967 until her retirement in 2011.

Eileen was a member of St. John’s Church in Beacon and enjoyed needlepoint, reading, gardening, her grandchildren and travel.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Shea of LaGrangeville and Colleen Marland (Sean) of Swansboro, North Carolina, as well as her grandchildren, Dalton Shea, Theresa Marland and Zachary Marland. She also is survived by her siblings, Rose Farrell of Beacon, Marie Smith of Fishkill, James Antalek (Fay) of Kinderhook, Andy Antalek of Beacon, and Robert Antalek (Michelle) of Beacon.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Aug. 25 at St. John’s Church, with burial at St. Joachim Cemetery.

Ramon Vasquez

Ramon Vasquez (1944-2018)

Ramon L. Vasquez, 74, of Beacon and formerly of New York City, died Aug. 25, 2018, at Fishkill Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Ramon was born May 5, 1944, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, the son of Luis Soliveres and Leticia (Vega) Vasquez. He was an electrician with Joseph Richter, Inc. in New York City for more than 40 years before his retirement.

Ramon is survived by his children, Raymond Vasquez and Yvette Vasquez (Ralph Negron), five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He also is survived by a sister, Mary Cruz.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, Aug. 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, 2 Beekman St., in Beacon. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 7 p.m.
