Harriette Kane (1926-2018)

Harriette Kane, 91, of Beacon and formerly of Long Island, died Oct. 2, 2018 at Wingate at Beacon.

She was born in Brooklyn on Dec. 18, 1926, the daughter of Jacob and Rose Kaplan. She married Harold Kane, who died in 1978.

Harriette was an interior designer who owned KB Moulding in East Northport.

She is survived by her sons, Mark Kane (Robin), Robert Kane (Eileen) and Adam Kane (Tamara); her grandchildren, Alison Gilbey (John), Brian Kane (Melissa), Jessica Cosman (Jim), Harrison Kane (fiancé Christy), Joe Silvestro (Divya), Simon MacVicar (Jennifer), Paul Kane and Yura Yefymenko (Nami); and her great grandchildren: Colin, Brynn, Ryan, Malcom, Jacob, Ella and Isla.

A funeral service was held Oct. 7 at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey in Beacon. Memorial donations may be made to Beacon Hebrew Alliance Women’s Group, P.O. Box 7, Beacon, NY 121508. Checks should be made payable to Ellen Gersh with “Women’s Group” in the memo line.

Anna Lanari

Anna Lanari (1923-2018)

Anna M. Lanari, 94, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, and formerly of Beacon,, died Oct. 5, 2018.

Born in Newburgh on Oct. 12, 1923, she was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Vito) Mack. She was the salutatorian of the Newburgh Free Academy class of 1943 and spent nearly all of her adult life in Beacon. She was active in her church and with the Catholic Daughters of America, where she was a past Grand Regent.

On April 21, 1946, at Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh, she married Henry Lanari. He died in 1984.

Anna worked in retail shops on Beacon’s Main Street. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards, Scrabble and going on senior trips at home and abroad.

She is survived by her sons, Richard Lanari (Patty) of Murrells Inlet; Paul Lanari (Jeanie) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and Michael Lanari (Yolanda) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She also is survived by her sister, Marlene Sebesta of Newburgh; her grandchildren, Joann Guay (Matthew), Kelly Morgan, Kathryn Larsen (Tony) and Austin Lanari; and her great-grandchildren Zoe Larsen, Alanna Larsen and Dekklin Larsen.

Funeral services will be held in Beacon at a later date.
