Frances Fleming (1930-2018)

Frances C. Fleming, 88, a lifelong Beacon resident, died Oct. 27, 2018.

She was born July 13, 1930, in Beacon, the daughter of Stephen and Mary (Babel) Pardovich.

On March 4, 1950, at the First Presbyterian Church in Beacon, she married Robert Fleming, who died in 1996 after 46 years of marriage.

Frances enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, playing cards and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children: Robert Fleming, William Fleming, Diana Megna (John) and Donna Fleming-McCollum (James), as well as her grandchildren, Dawn Marie Maybaum and Jake McCollum; and great-grandchildren, Dereck Meyer and Joceilia Maybaum.

Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, at the Fishkill Rural Cemetery for a graveside service. Memorial donations may be made to the Hudson Valley chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.

Douglas Jackson

Douglas Jackson (1925-2018)

Douglas F. Jackson Sr., 93, died Oct. 28, 2018, at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh.

Known as “Bukka” to his family and friends, he was born Feb. 27, 1925. A Beacon resident for 90 years, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific arena. He is survived by his wife, Pocahontas Jackson. Services will be private.
