No parking on city streets after 2 inches falls

The City of Beacon will have two warming centers open on Thursday, at the Salvation Army (372 Main St.) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and at the Howland Public Library (313 Main St.) from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The city issued a notice on Jan. 29 that after 2 inches of snow have fallen, vehicles should not be parked on city streets between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. to allow for plowing. Vehicles also should not be parked in city lots for 24 hours, and sidewalks must be cleared within that time. (It is a violation to throw snow into the street.)
