Margaret Chikeles (1933-2020)

Margaret Louise Chikeles, 86, of Beacon, died May 2 at Wingate at Beacon.

Born on Dec. 5, 1933, in Highland, she was the daughter of George and Elizabeth “Bessie” (Lent) Van Oyan. On March 19, 1954, she married Nicholas Chikeles. They were married for 43 years until his death.

Margaret loved spending time with her grandchildren and gardening, especially raising roses, her family said.

She is survived by her children, Joanna Ross (Neil) and Michael Chikeles (Laurie). She is also survived by five grandchildren: Shane Chikeles, Alyssa Chikeles-Schimmel, Jamie McGuiness, Janine McGuiness and Robert McGuiness; and five great-grandchildren: Kylie Maloney, Alex Briggs-McGuiness, Sadi Schimmel, Hazel McGuiness and Gia McGuiness. A private memorial will be held.

Audrey Lucy (1925-2020)

Audrey D. Lucy, 95, a lifelong Beacon resident, died May 4 at Wingate at Beacon.

Audrey was born on March 7, 1925, in Beacon, the daughter of Albert and Leolene (Boyce) Allen. She graduated from Beacon High School and attended the Spencerian Business School in Newburgh. She worked as a salesperson at a clothing store in Beacon until her retirement.

On Feb. 14, 1948, she married Robert Lucy. They were married for 66 years until his death in 2014. They loved traveling and visited 49 of the 50 states.

A private graveside service will be held at the Fishkill Rural Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Animal Rescue Foundation (arfbeacon.org).

Patricia Wolfe-Mastro

Patricia Wolfe-Mastro (1940-2020)

Patricia A. Wolfe-Mastro, 79, of Fishkill, died April 29 at Wingate of Beacon.

Born July 18, 1940, she was the daughter of James and Millie Musacchio. After graduating from Beacon High School, she worked for several years as a hairdresser before beginning a career in banking. She was an assistant manager for The Bank of New York in Hopewell Junction for more than 25 years. After her retirement, she continued working at Cracker Barrel.

Patricia took great pride in family traditions and her grandchildren, her family said. Cooking, weekly family dinners and card games were the norm.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Mastro, and her children, Lisa Kanzler of Wallkill and Anthony Mastro (Patricia Shackelton) of Valrico, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Lois Mastropole of Mahopac; two brothers, Anthony Mussachio (Nancy) and James Mussachio of Beacon, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass and memorial service will be announced. Entombment will take place at Fishkill Rural Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org).
