A group of Beacon residents met at the Howland Public Library on Jan. 28 to make lanterns for the Spring Celebration of Light Festival for the Year of the Dragon that will take place on Feb. 24 at Polhill Park. A second lantern-making workshop is scheduled at the library from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday (Feb. 4).
