Women's Transportation Seminar

Washington, D.C., The Associate, Digital and Content Marketing will work to craft, align, and schedule messaging; primarily through email and digital platforms, to internal and external stakeholders of WTS International. This includes our 8,700 members; 69 Chapters, corporate and industry partners, and other volunteers. This role will fully manage and execute on email requests and schedules; triggered campaigns; and strategic marketing pipelines in a variety of WTS International platforms.
This position will work cross—departmentally to facilitate and schedule email marketing, to include event promotion, membership campaigns, executive messaging, member and stakeholder newsletters, legislative and policy updates, WTS Foundation fundraising; and other specialty campaigns.
Additionally, this position will assist the Vice President, External Relations & Strategic Initiatives and the Manager, Communications & Programming, in the implementation and release of external communications, including posting executive and leadership letters and talking points on WTS digital platforms and social media.
The role will report to the WTS International Vice President of External Relations and Strategic Initiatives. This Associate will closely align and often collaborate with other departments and positions, such as Meetings & Events; Marketing & Communications, and Membership & Chapter Relations; and must be able to support WTS members, chapter representatives, leadership and volunteers.
The ideal candidate for this position must be curious, driven, organized, deadline-driven, and thorough, with excellent writing, copyediting, and technical skills. Experience with project management, calendar development and scheduling, association management systems (AMS) like ACGI, Drupal/website content management, and Informz email platforms and Higher Logic platforms also preferred.
This role will also regularly report on email data and analytics, including recommendations based on historical data and outreach. Knowledge of SEO, design basics, corporate brand and style guidelines, and social media analytics also preferred.

Responsibilities & Position Description:

This role will build and manage a year-round, cross-departmental email and digital marketing calendar.
This role will take programming and content ideas and execute on those ideas.
This role will develop and execute engaging marketing campaigns across the organization . Utilizing software and workflows, increase engagement through drip marketing and retargeting.
This role will be a team player and diplomatic.
This role will be a team player and a “do-er”: The Associate will create and coordinate with multiple departments, but also work in a small team environment with little “silo-ing.”
This role will continually evaluate and analyze digital performance: The Associate will establish a methodology of collecting and tracking digital performance and analyze and act upon those findings. The Associate will regularly report out metrics such as open rates and engagements and execute a plan of recommendations from leadership for improvement, if needed.

Duties:

Collaborate with WTS staff, WTS board leadership, WTS member volunteers, and WTS industry partners on email marketing requests and outreach
Collect messaging, develop draft emails, and utilizing WTS systems of ACGI and Higher Logic, schedule and send digital messages
In Higher Logic and Informz platforms, develop marketing campaigns to include, follow up emails, drip marketing, and retargeting
In coordination with Meetings & Events and Membership and Chapter Relations, develop and support email and digital marketing campaigns that drive event registration and membership growth
Provides a status report on a regular basis as determined by the President & CEO and Vice President, External Relations and Strategic Initiatives
Support other digital platforms including social media to spread WTS messaging
Utilizing platforms, execute content calendar and track progress, providing recommendations for change based on data
Basic design and graphics support for social media and email marketing
Assist in updating company websites, and support WTS chapters in updating their websites
Other duties and tasks as assigned

A successful candidate for this position could come from varying backgrounds and educational experiences. A specific degree is not required, but post-high-school educational experience preferred.
At least 3-5 years of overall professional experience within communications, digital platforms, association management systems (AMS), email marketing platforms and scheduling to include workflow, drip campaigns, etc.
Understanding of graphic design platforms and brand understanding perferred
Ability to travel to approximately 2-3 number of industry events each calendar year
Experience in and/or basic knowledge of transportation industry, or curiosity about the transportation industry
Excellent long and short-form writing skills (samples required)
Experience in project management, scheduling, and digital calendar maintenance
