Desmond-Fish Library 

On Tuesday, May 15 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. the Desmond – Fish Library will host a self defense seminar for women. The seminar topics will include conflict avoidance strategies, awareness skills, assessment skills, verbal and non verbal de-escalation skills, practical self defense tactics, and post-assault considerations. The seminar presenters are John Burt, Mary Brown and Burt Kyosa. All have extensive personal defense knowledge and decades of experience as martial art instructors. Master Brown currently teaches taekwondo at West Point. Burt Kyosa is an adjunct at Purchase College where he teaches self-defense, hapkido and taekwondo.
