Author to read in Putnam Valley

Annette Libeskind Berkovits will read from her biography of her father, In the Unlikeliest of Places: How Nachman Libeskind Survived the Nazis, Gulags and Soviet Communism, at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, at the Putnam Valley Library.

Her account includes his escape after the 1939 Nazi invasion of Lodz, Poland, his imprisonment and his journey from post-war Poland to Israel and New York.
