Self-response rates to the 2020 U.S. census, as of Oct. 16, along with historical data, are below. Although the Census Bureau had planned to continue the count until Oct. 31, Wilbur Ross, the secretary of the Commerce Department, which oversees the bureau, stopped it early. These percentages do not include households that did not respond but were visited by enumerators.
