The Putnam Valley school district accepted the resignation of High School Principal Jonathan Bryant at a special meeting held on Wednesday June 23. Mr. Bryant’s sudden resignation, submitted on Monday June 21 was completely unexpected.

Superintendent Dr. Marc Space said this should not have a negative impact on the upcoming high school graduation. Assistant high school principal Sam Oliverio will stand in as acting principal until such time as the district decides on how it will proceed.

Following the induction of the new Board trustees on July 13, the board will discuss the approach it may wish to take for leadership of the high school.

Mr. Bryant was not immediately available for comment.
