Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a 42-year-old Highland man on larceny charges stemming from the alleged theft of plumbing supplies from a house under construction. On Feb. 26, 2011, a Garrison resident reported items stolen from his home. On March 16, sheriff’s investigators arrested John W. Kahrs and charged him with Petit Larceny, class “A” misdemeanor. Kahrs was released without bail pending a future court appearance in Philipstown Justice Court. If convicted, Kahrs could face up to a year in prison.
