Music by local talents Andy Revkin, Mike McKee, Julie Heckert and more

On this Friday, May 17, from 6 to 8 p.m., the Episcopal churches of St. Philip’s in Garrison and St. Mary’s in Cold Spring will be hosting a Spring Soiree with “riparian musical entertainment and refreshments.”

There will be live musical performances by Andy Revkin, Mike McKee, Julie Heckert and other performers from St. Philip’s. The music will range from Broadway hits and art songs to Renaissance madrigals. Wine, beer, sparkling water, lemonade and other libations will be served, along with a variety of canapés, sandwiches and desserts.

The event will be held as a fundraiser for the outreach programs of both churches, which include the support of two Tibetan children in a refugee camp in India, the Cold Spring Food Pantry, lunches at the Salvation Army in Peekskill, a special monthly dinner for the residents of a mental health halfway house in Beacon and post-Sandy rebuilding projects in New York City. A donation of $50 per person is requested.

The event will be behind the Antipodean Book Store at 29 Garrison’s Landing along the Hudson River. The neighboring Garrison Art Center will stay open until 8 p.m. Friday night as part of the event. Parking is available at the Garrison Metro-North train station. Tickets can be reserved by calling St. Philip’s office at 845-424-3571, St. Mary’s at 914-689-1415, or by just coming to the event.
