Doors open at 9 a.m. at Taconic Outdoor Education Center

The Friends of Fahnestock and Hudson Highlands State Park will host its sixth annual Fahnestock Winter Park Ski Swap and Fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7 at the Taconic Outdoor Education Center, 75 Mountain Laurel Lane, Cold Spring.

The event will offer both new and secondhand cross-country skis for children and adults, boots, poles, bindings, snowshoes, ski bags, roller skis and blades, car racks and ski boxes. New gear will be sold by Fahnestock Winter Park and Pawling Cycle and Sport. Get your bindings mounted while you wait.

Secondhand merchandise needs to be in good shape. Equipment may be dropped off before the sale on Saturday morning between 7:30 and 9 a.m. or by calling 845-265-3773 during weekday business hours to make an appointment. Contributors are asked to set a reasonable price for each item in a whole dollar amount and complete a Ski Swap form. (To receive the form by email, write Paul Kuznia at [email protected].)

A donation of $1 is requested for each item dropped off. If the item sells, the Friends of Fahnestock and Hudson Highlands State Parks will keep 20 percent to cover sales tax and to fund improvements at Fahnestock Winter Park. A check for the remaining proceeds will be mailed. Any unclaimed goods will become the property of Fahnestock Winter Park.

Admission to the event is free. Displayed prices are non-negotiable and sales are final. For updates follow @FWPupdates on Twitter or join the park’s Snow Alerts group.
