Sister Colette Duffy (1914-2016)

Sister Colette Duffy, 102, a Franciscan Sister of the Atonement from Graymoor, died Nov. 15, 2016, at Lurana Health Care Residence of St. Francis Convent in Garrison.

Sister Colette was born Nov. 8, 1914, in South Boston to Charles J. and Bridget (Logue) Duffy, both natives of Ireland. She entered the Franciscan Sisters of the Atonement May 17, 1940. She professed her first vows Oct. 22, 1941, and her final vows Aug. 23, 1947.

As an Atonement missionary, she served in parish and pastoral ministries in New York (Dannemora, Schenectady, Schuylerville and Scotia); as well as Bingham Canyon, Utah; in California (Lindsay and Bakersfield); and in Byram, Connecticut, before returning to Graymoor in 2003. She is survived by her sister-in-law Lorraine and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass was held at Graymoor on Nov. 18, followed by interment in the Sisters’ Cemetery.

Jose L. Pagan

Jose L. Pagan, 73, of Garrison, died Nov. 13, 2016. A funeral service was held Nov. 17, followed by interment at the Assumption Cemetery in Peekskill.
