Joan Angot (1942-2017)

Joan M. Angot, 74, a longtime resident of Hopewell Junction, died July 2, 2017, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. Among her survivors is a daughter, Michelle Angot, of Beacon.

Born in Newburgh on Oct. 20, 1942, she was the daughter of the Joseph and Harriet (Embler) Vallo. She married Robert J. Angot on Sept. 10, 1961, in Fishkill.

Besides her daughter Michelle, she is survived by her children Lisa Burlingame of Hopewell Junction, Robert J. Angot Jr. of Katonah, Jon Angot of Stanfordville and Joseph Angot of Hopewell Junction, as well as 13 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. She also is survived by a sister, Gail Arrigo Price, of Beacon, and a brother, Ted Vallo, of Florida. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sepsis Alliance (sepsis.org).

Nat Bartholomaei

Nat Bartholomaei

Nathaniel “Nat” Bartholomaei, 95, of Amelia Island, Florida, and a former engineer at Texaco Research in Beacon, died June 27, 2017.

Born in Nashua, New Hampshire, he was the son of Herman and Natalie (True) Bartholomaei. He graduated from the Gould Academy in Bethel, Maine, then earned this bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Maine. He was awarded a master’s degree in engineering from the University of Delaware.

His professional career began at Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY, where he taught engineering from 1949 to 1952 before beginning a 30-year career at Texaco Research, primarily in petrochemicals that served the airline and trucking industries.

Nat served on the Board of Directors for the Hudson Valley Health Systems Agency and was a member of the Fire Police for the LaGrangeville Volunteer Fire Department, where he rewrote their safety manual. He loved music and helped fund his way through college by playing in bands.

Nat is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, two stepchildren, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Community Hospice, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.

Florence Scofield

Florence Scofield (1958-2017)

Florence Scofield, 59, of Beacon, died June 10, 2017, at her home.

Born May 23, 1958, she was an animal lover and a longtime volunteer at shelters. Her friends gathered on June 25 at the Animal Rescue Foundation in Beacon to remember her.

Robert Wallace (1934-2017)

Robert A. Wallace, age 83, of La Quinta, California, died June 17, 2017. Among his survivors is a son, Peter Wallace (Nanette), of Beacon.

Born in Boston, on May 11, 1934, Robert was a son of Steven and Catherine (Fitzpatrick) Wallace. He married Jean Mastroianni, who died before him. A U.S. Army veteran, Robert was employed for many years in the pharmaceutical industry and enjoyed skiing and golf.

Besides his son Peter, he is survived by his sons Robert J. Wallace Sr. (Gail) of Trumbull, California; Matthew Wallace of Palm Springs, California; and Michael Wallace of New York City; and four grandchildren: Robert Jr., Lauren, Michael and Jessica Wallace. Funeral services were held July 7.
