Chickie Galligan
Alberta (Chickie) Galligan, 80, of Jensen Beach, Florida, and formerly of Cold Spring, died on Sept. 11, 2017, in Stuart, Florida.
Born in Cold Spring on Dec. 11, 1936, she was the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth (Bleakley) Jesek.
Chickie graduated from Haldane High School in 1955 and was named Miss Beacon prior to her marriage to Robert Galligan on Apr. 19, 1958, at Our Lady of Loretto. She was a secretary for many years at Butterfield Hospital before her retirement. She moved to Florida with her husband in 1988.
Besides her husband, Chickie is survived by her children Cathy Valenti (John) and Glenn Galligan (Jennifer) and her grandchildren John Valenti Jr. (Heather), Jessica Valenti, Kaitlyn Galligan and Ryan Galligan. She also is survived by her great grandson, John Valenti III, her brother, John Jesek (Judy) and her sister-in-law Dorothy Galligan Kuenzler.
Friends may call on Sept. 30 from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at Clinton Funeral Home, 21 Parrott St., in Cold Spring. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with interment to follow at Cold Spring Cemetery.
