Ralph Arce (1955-2017)

Ralph Arce, 62, of Beacon, a native of Yonkers who was formerly a senior warden and choir member of St Mary’s Church in Cold Spring, died Sept. 24, 2017, of a heart attack. Born Sept. 13, 1955, he was a supervisor with the Westchester County Department of Social Services until his retirement.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Oct. 21 at 11 a.m. at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 105 Grand St., in Newburgh. Condolences may be sent to De La Cruz/Alonso, P.O. Box 62, Lake Peekskill, NY 10537.

Sean Lynch

Sean Lynch (1959-2017)

Sean Thomas Lynch, 57, died Oct. 1, 2017.

Born Oct. 20, 1959, in Beacon, he was the son of Thomas and Joan (Guilbault) Lynch. After graduating from Beacon High School in 1977, he served in the U.S. Navy, where he was stationed in Japan on the USS Midway.

After his service, he moved to Syracuse and, with a passion for music, worked for Record World Stores in the Carousel Mall, where he met his wife, Sherry.

Sean also followed the family working in the title insurance business for many years. He was kind and gentle and had a brilliant mind and a great passion for reading, music, classic movies, and loved to chat with friends online. He also volunteered his time at AA and with the Bridge Back program helping others in need.

Sean is survived by his daughter, Angelina Lynch-Tamang (Sharad Tamang) of Kathmandu, Nepal; Sherry Lynch Kishman of Syracuse; his companion Gail Freeman of Kingston; his stepmother, Norma Lynch, of Naples, Florida; his sisters, Anne Lynch of Beacon; Mary Yates (Robert) of Brookfield, Connecticut; Bronwyn Novak of Rhinecliff; Heather Lynch of East Greenbush; and his aunt, Sonia Guilbault of Texas.

The family will be hold a private ceremony. Memorial donations may be made to the Ulster Public Library (townofulsterlibrary.org) or the Health Alliance of the Hudson Valley (hahv.org).

Jane Robb

Jane Robb

Jane Carolyn (McKinnes) Robb, 77, died Sept. 23, 2017, in Phoenix, Arizona, following a long illness.

Raised in Beacon, Jane attended Wheaton College in Illinois, majoring in French. She married David Robb shortly after graduation. Following brief periods of living in Virginia, where Jane worked as a teacher, and New York, they settled outside of Chicago, raising their family in Evanston and Winnetka. They retired to Charlottesville, Virginia; Santa Fe, New Mexico; and Phoenix.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Heather Robb-O’Donnell (Brian) and April Robb (David); her sister, Nancy Bell (David); her grandchildren Audrey and Jonah Carter; and her brother-in-law, Peter Hartford.

A memorial service will be held on Oct. 12 in Santa Fe. Memorial donations may be made to the Mayo Clinic for Corticobasal degeneration research, the Santa Fe Botanical Garden or the Santa Fe Garden Club.
