Taylor Brugman

Taylor Knight Brugman, 64, of Brimley, Michigan, died of cancer on Dec. 11, 2017, in Petoskey. A graduate of John Jay High School in Hopewell Junction, he was  the former owner of Spy Hill Florists in Beacon.

He was born in Mineola on May 8, 1953, to George and Helen (Knight) Brugman.

Taylor was passionate about American classic cars, music, recording, and community theater. He helped convert a movie theater in Wappingers Falls to the County Players Falls Theatre and served on the group’s board of directors. In Michigan he assisted with restoring the Soo Theatre and served on its board and as its longtime technical director. He also was the first president of the Soo Film Festival in Sault Ste. Marie.

Among his survivors is his wife of 15 years, Elisabeth, and a sister, Martha McLeod (Alan Drinan), of Enfield, Connecticut.
