Henry Cibelli (1955-2018)

Henry T. Cibelli, 62, of Poughkeepsie, a former director of facilities for the Beacon City School District until his retirement last summer, died Feb. 15, 2018, of cancer. He was at home, surrounded by his family.

Born July 21, 1955, Henry was the son of Ernest and Claire (Rylah) Cibelli. On Aug. 25, 1985, he married Amy Kirkpatrick.

After working for 13 years with the Arlington Central School District, he became director of facilities for the Beacon district from 2012 until his retirement in July. He was a longtime member of the New York State School Facilities Association, and served as president of the Mid-Hudson Chapter for five years. In recognition of his leadership, the chapter recently created the Henry Cibelli mentor scholarship.

Music was important part of Henry’s life. While attending Arlington High School, he played in his band, Pegasus, alongside his friends. He loved listening to music, often playing Yes and Genesis on Saturday mornings while making breakfast for his daughters. Later, he was a dedicated Arlington Marching Band groupie, supporting all three daughters and following the band all the way to the nationals in the equipment truck.

Henry also enjoyed sports, playing baseball and football for Arlington. He continued to enjoy both sports being an avid Mets and Jets fan, this past fall bringing the whole family and his grandson to his first Major League Baseball game. Henry also enjoyed playing golf, coaching his daughters’ childhood soccer teams, and teaching them to swim and ride bikes.

Besides his wife of 32 years, he is survived by his daughter Jennifer Chamberlain (Carter) and grandson Benjamin; his daughter Meghan Cibelli and her boyfriend, Joshua Winans; and his daughter Lindsey Cibelli and her boyfriend, Jason Lee. He also is survived by a brother, Edward Cibelli (Robin); his mother-in-law, Mary Kirkpatrick; his sisters-in-law, Kay Pecchia, Terrie Cruger, Jayne Kelly, Tracey Kirkpatrick and Jonni Nash (Brian); and a brother-in-law, Mickey Kirkpatrick.

Funeral services were held Feb. 22 at Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie, with private burial. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org).

Fred Dimichele (1954-2018)

Frederick Dimichele, 63, of Beacon, died Feb. 17, 2018.

Born in Peekskill on May 9, 1954, Fred was the son of Alfred and Olga (Ascenzo) Dimichele and graduated from Peekskill High School in 1972.

He is survived by his children: Frederick Dimichele, Shannon Dimichele, Kerri Dimichele and Kyle Dimichele, all of Delaware, and five great-grandchildren. He also is survived by his mother and siblings: Elaine Caccoma (Frank) of Peekskill; Michael Dimichele of Mount Vernon and Dora Dimichele (Stephen Thomas) of Media, Pennsylvania; and his partner, Susan LaWare of Beacon..

Visitation will be held Feb. 24 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Nardone Funeral Home at 414 Washington St., Peekskill, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption, 920 First St., Peekskill. Memorial donations may be made to the Assumption Church’s Matthew 25 Ministry.
