Saturday, June 23

After a traffic stop on Main Street, Gualberto Negron, 18, of Beacon was charged with DWI.

Sunday, June 24

Caller on Fishkill Avenue reported a male yelling for help. Male was transported to hospital for multiple injuries. Investigation continuing.

Caller reported damage to planters and flowers along Main Street.

Caller on Main Street reported individual stealing items from store. Suspect warned and banned from location.

Monday, June 25

Caller on Russell Avenue reported unknown male attempted to enter her residence.

Caller on Union Street reported receiving unwanted text messages.

Tuesday, June 26

Vincent Squilla, 32, of Marlboro was picked up in Newburgh on a warrant.

Caller on Maple Street reported vehicle broken into and items missing. Another caller said vehicle rummaged through but no items missing.

Caller on Wilkes Street reported car broken into and items taken.

Caller on Wolcott Avenue reported hit-and-run crash.

Caller on John Street reported bicycle stolen and another bicycle left on property.

Caller on Tioronda Avenue reported car broken into and items missing.

Wednesday, June 27

Caller from Municipal Plaza reported fraudulent activity while trying to upgrade a cell phone.

Caller on Eliza Street reported a hit-and-run crash that left damage to vehicle.

Thursday, June 28

Caller on Main Street reported car damaged by hit-and-run.

Saturday, June 30

Caller reported group of disorderly individuals bothering customers in front of Main Street businesses.

Caller on Violet Drive reported items stolen from vehicle during evening hours.

Sunday, July 1

Caller reported damage to vehicle at Municipal Plaza from hit-and-run.

Monday, July 2

Caller reported a suspicious male following her.

Tuesday, July 3

Caller on Main Street reported a group of individuals smoking marijuana in the parking lot behind her residence.

Caller on Rombout Avenue reported telephone scam trying to collect on unpaid utility bills.

Wednesday, July 4

Roger Earl Grissett, 53, of Beacon was charged with criminal possession of forged instrument (counterfeit money).

Thursday, July 5

Darren Villani, 24, of Beacon was issued an appearance ticket for unlawful dealing with fireworks.

Kayla Colon, 24, of Beacon was charged with possession of marijuana.

Elizabeth G. Mehu, 35, of Pearl River was charged with arson and criminal mischief.

New York State Police

Between July 4 and July 8, members of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police and the police departments of Poughkeepsie, Hyde Park and Millerton conducted impaired driving patrols throughout the county and made at least nine arrests, including six drivers were who allegedly impaired. Among the nine arrested was Michael Birney, 26, of Beacon, who was charged with misdemeanor DWI.

The officers also conducted a sobriety checkpoint on July 7 between 4 and 9 p.m. in Poughkeepsie, stopping about 2,000 vehicles, but no impaired drivers were encountered.
