Father Martin Madison

Father Martin A. Madison, SA, nee Thomas, a Franciscan Friar of the Atonement at Graymoor in Garrison, died Oct. 4, 2018.

A wake service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. at the Friary Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. and interment in the Friars’ cemetery.

Michael O’Neill (1962-2018)

Michael J. O’Neill, 56, of Garrison, died Oct. 4, 2018.

He was born on June 13, 1962, in New York City, the son of Arthur and Joan (Flannagan) O’Neill.

Michael was a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service in Chappaqua since 1985. He was passionate about fishing and loved the Giants, Yankees and Rangers.

He is survived by his children, Devon O’Neill and Thomas O’Neill; his sister, Sheila O’Neill Molle; his brothers, Brian O’Neill (Allison) and Glenn O’Neill; and his former wife, Christina O’Neill.

A memorial service was held Oct. 7 at the E.O. Curry Funeral Home in Peekskill.

Norman Wright

Norman Wright (1928-2018)

Norman E. Wright, 90, a LaGrangeville resident since 1993 and formerly of Mohegan Lake, died Oct. 7, 2018, at the Pines at Poughkeepsie. He was a former member of the Cold Spring Baptist Church and played the organ there for many years.

Born in Brooklyn on Aug. 1, 1928, he was the son of the late Vincent and Grace (Taylor) Wright. He was employed with Con Edison and Union Carbide in Tarrytown. An accomplished musician, Norman studied at The Julliard School and the Baptist Tabernacle in Brooklyn. Along with Cold Spring Baptist, he also played the organ in many churches in the Hudson Valley, including at West Point.

On Nov. 28, 1954, in Brooklyn, he married Lois Korwan, who died in 2001. He is survived by his children, Stacy Messina (Phil) of LaGrangeville; Paul Wright of Stuyvesant; Peter Wright of LaGrangeville; and Karen Forsberg (Scott) of LaGrangeville; and his grandchildren, Katie McCusker, Andrew McCusker, Cody Forsberg, Taylor Forsberg and Brittany Wright.

A funeral service was held Oct. 12, with internment on Oct. 15 at LaGrangeville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Pines at Poughkeepsie.
