Carole Davidson, 76, of Garrison, died at her home of lung cancer on March 7, 2019.
Born Dec. 8, 1942, in Winchester, Virginia, she was the daughter of Lewis and Loretta (Hinebaugh) Zirkle. She was raised in Winchester and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Richmond and a master’s degree in political science from the Schar School of Policy & Government at George Mason University. She resided in Washington, D.C., and later lived for nearly 40 years in Alexandria, Virginia, before moving to New York two years ago.
Carole spent her career at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in Langley working in the Directorate of Operations until her retirement just over two years ago, after which she moved to New York. Her work at the CIA included a five-year tour of duty in Paris.
She is survived by her son, Kevin Davidson (Anthony Lise) of Garrison; her grandson, Henry; and her brothers, Eddie Zirkle of Winchester and Tommy Zirkle of Martinsburg, West Virginia.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, March 15, at the McHoul Funeral Home, 1089 Main St., in Fishkill. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 16, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a private burial at Cold Spring Cemetery.
