On Sept. 12, longtime Philipstown residents Sokhara Kim and Chakra Oeur invited fellow refugees and immigrant friends to celebrate one of Cambodia’s most important national holidays: Rice Harvest Day.

Somehow, on their Route 9 property, the couple managed to nurture and grow rice, which was cut, harvested and pounded with traditional tools while everyone celebrated with favorite dishes, music and dance.
