The Highlands celebrated the Fourth of July with a burst of events. Cold Spring’s Independence Day Parade took place on July 1, with a procession that began at 10 a.m. at Dockside Park. Following the parade, St. Mary’s Episcopal Church hosted Summer Fun Day on its Great Lawn, with food, games, live music and vendors. That same day, Boscobel held its Celebrate Independence Day Concert, with a performance by the Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra and fireworks at dusk.
