John Williams, a cherished resident of Dingmanns Ferry, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Oct. 21, 2026, at the age of 76.

Born on Nov. 16, 1949, in Armonk, New York, John was the beloved son of Harry and Florence Williams. His early years were spent in Garrison, where he cultivated lifelong friendships and values before embarking on a distinguished career in the U.S. Marine Corps.
A proud Marine, John served as a corporal during the Vietnam War. His bravery and dedication were recognized with a Combat Action Medal, reflecting the valor with which he served his country. Following his time in the military, John pursued a career as a truck driver, dedicating 35 years to the Teamsters Local 456 out of Elmsford. His commitment and professionalism left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of working alongside him.
John was a man of many passions. In his younger years, he found joy at dirt tracks and NASCAR races across New York and Pennsylvania. An avid hunter and fisherman, he relished the solace and adventure the great outdoors provided. In later years, John could often be found contentedly watching wrestling, going through his large coin collection or dazzling friends and family with his dance moves, earning him the affectionate nickname “Turkey.”
Known for his quick wit and warm smile, John had a rare gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued. His humor lightened many hearts, and his kindness and generosity touched countless lives. A devoted member of Bishops Motorcycle Club, John forged deep connections with those who shared his love of the open road.
John is survived by his loving partner, Stephanie “Gwendolyn” Gancarz, who stood steadfastly by his side. He leaves behind his cherished daughters, Sandy Williams and Melissa Sluk (David), Marie Barry and Kory Gancarz, and his adored sister, Patricia Harrington, and brother, Harry Williams (Jody), as well his Aunt Norma of Florida. John’s legacy lives on through his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, who will continue to carry his spirit forward.
Though predeceased by his parents, Harry and Florence, younger brother Edward, and brother-in-law Gerry, John’s memory will forever be a guiding light for those he leaves behind.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to John’s aides from Aveana, especially Marie, who brought joy to his days. Special thanks are also due to Rinku and Peter from Lakeview Deli for their kindness and to the compassionate team at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Poconos. A very special acknowledgment goes to his grandson Austin for his unwavering support and help around the house.
