Frances Gagne (1934-2024)

Frances M. Gagne, 90, of Cold Spring and formerly of Putnam Valley, died July 11.

She was born Feb. 24, 1934, in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Verl and Pauline (Robertson) Cline.

Frances was a legal secretary for Greene Leins and Ryan in Ossining until her retirement. She moved to Cold Spring 14 years ago. She enjoyed cooking for her family and cruising with her husband, Col. Richard Gagne, after he retired from the U.S. Air Force. He died in 2018.

Frances is survived by her children, Jeffrey Gagne (Tina), Richard Gagne (Michelle) and Patrick Gagne (Beth), and her grandchildren, Chrystal, Tammy, Linda, Catherine, Dominque and Patrick Jr. Along with her husband, her siblings, Frederick Cline and Helen Reed, died before her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday (July 17) at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Loretto, 24 Fair St., in Cold Spring, followed by interment at Cold Spring Cemetery.

Violet Terio (1929-2024)

Violet Terio, 95, of Cold Spring, died July 9 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx.

She was born Feb. 13, 1929, in New York City, the daughter of William and Mariette (Daucourt) Pfeffer. Violet was a member of Our Lady of Loretto and enjoyed raising chickens on her property for 54 years. After a divorce, she worked for the Bird & Bottle Inn as a housekeeper.

She is survived by her children, Renee Romanello and Russell Terio; her grandchildren, Jaclyn Iglesias (Kevin); and her great-grandchildren, Sydney Rose and Kingsley and Joseph Romanello. Violet’s infant son, William Terio; her daughter, Denise Terio; and a brother, William Pfeffer, died earlier.
