Winter storm warning begins Saturday (Feb. 8) at 5 p.m.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the lower Hudson Valley that begins at 5 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 8) and continues through 11 a.m. Sunday. For more information, see our Storm Updates Page.
On Friday, Beacon reminded residents of its rules and regulations regarding parking and sidewalks after snowfall. After 2 inches of snow, vehicles cannot be parked on the street between the hours of 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. and must not obstruct city snowplows. Vehicles can be moved to city’s public parking lots but must be moved 24 hours after the snow stops. In addition, property owners must clear adjacent sidewalks within 24 hours of the snowfall ending without throwing snow into the road.
There will be no parking on Village of Cold Spring streets from 7 p.m. Saturday until 6 a.m. Sunday. Parking is also temporarily suspended on Fair Street between Main and Northern on Sunday. Those attending Mass at Our Lady of Loretto should park off-street in the church lot or Fair Street municipal lot.
The Village of Nelsonville said on Friday that street parking will be banned, including on Main Street, from Saturday at midnight to Sunday at 6 a.m. Winter parking spots are available on Adams Avenue and in the North Pearl Street lot.
