Incident at Croton-Harmon station under investigation
By Kevin E. Foley
Metro-North experienced train delays Tuesday evening (July 21) as authorities investigated the death of a man who might have jumped or fell in front of a moving train at the Croton-Harmon station on the Hudson line.
The accident occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m. Tuesday afternoon when a northbound passenger train struck a man on the tracks. Passengers had to disembark and wait for another train as emergency services responded.
The victim, according to The Journal News, is a 19-year-old male, John Thomas Intrieri, a resident of Croton.
Police are said to be studying video from station monitors to see if an explanation for the incident can be found.
I have read different accounts of this unfortunate incident and this is the only one I read where you say the train was speeding. Is this a fact? Thank you!
