Phase one of repairs begins next week

The doors will be open, but the scaffolding is going up at the First Presbyterian Church of Philipstown at 10 Academy St. in Cold Spring. Phase one of its capital campaign begins next week on the exterior of the building with brick pointing, roof repair and repairs to the front steps. That will be followed by interior work on the sanctuary with plaster and paint and the floor of the community room.

Groups that use the church such as the Community Nursery School, the Girl Scouts, Alcoholics Anonymous and Philipstown Food Pantry will continue to have access.

Many local businesses donated to a fundraising raffle, and contractors who have been and will be part of the repairs and improvements are Ed Manz Masonry, Dave Maroney Roofing, Evan Chefalo Contracting, Jeff Toland Contracting, Pidala Electric, Dash Lock and Key, C&E Hardware and Downey Oil.
