Man Charged with Plumbing Theft

 Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a 42-year-old Highland man on larceny charges stemming from the alleged theft of plumbing supplies from a house under construction. On Feb. 26, 2011, a Garrison resident reported items stolen from his home.  On March 16, sheriff’s investigators arrested John W. Kahrs and charged him with Petit Larceny, class “A” misdemeanor.  Kahrs was released without bail pending a future court appearance in Philipstown Justice Court. If convicted, Kahrs could face up to a year in prison.
