A mailman wins a fortune and promptly drops dead

The Beacon and 4th Wall Productions have announced audition dates for their upcoming show Finnegan’s Farewell on Sunday, Feb. 12 and Monday Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. They are looking for all types and ages. Auditions will be held at The Beacon Theatre, 445 Main Street, Beacon. Show dates are March 16-18, 2012.

The audience has come to say goodbye to Patrick James Finnegan, a mailman who won $2.5 million playing the slots at Atlantic City and then promptly dropped dead. As his contentious family gets more and more distraught; a fight erupts over opening the casket. Finally they do and Finnegan’s body is missing. While the body is located, the audience can eat, drink, and be merry at this authentic Irish American wake, (concocted by the co-creator of Tony and Tina’s Wedding,) complete with traditional Irish drinking songs and some lively tap and step dancing. Paddy is eventually found, the party continues, and all are treated to a great surprise straight out of the song Finnegan’s Wake. For more information contact Jim Brady at [email protected].
