County Exec and Clerk race

Mary Ellen Odell, incumbent county executive cruised to an easy win over challenger Sam Oliverio, a county legislator from Putnam Valley. Odell, according to unofficial Board of Election results won 59.7 percent of the vote to Oliverio’s 40.1 percent.

In the County Clerk race, long-time deputy clerk Michael Bartolotti won 63.4 percent of the vote over Lithgow Osborne of Garrison who received 36.5 percent.

Odell et al on the REP line should thank Rob Astorino for their victory, who headed the slate and who personified Putnam opposition to the hated Cuomo and his policies – the SAFE Act, Common Core and the pro-abortion provision of the Women’s Equality Act. So no victory laurels to anyone or mandate.
