Students help plant bulbs and take some home, too

There is still time to join Stonecrop Gardens for an informative workshop about planting bulbs. Participants will discover how Stonecrop plants their outdoor display for maximum effect of color and longevity, and how indoor potted bulbs can bring cheer during the doldrums of winter. Then they can put their new knowledge to practice while helping to plant bulbs in the gardens. In spring, students can return to see their hard work blossom.

The Fascinating World of Bulbs takes place Saturday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and costs $40 (or $30 for Stonecrop members). Registration is required; call 845-265-2000 to register or for more information.

Tea, hot mulled cider and refreshments will be served. Participants will be able to take home some bulbs to plant in their own gardens as well as a pot of bulbs to enjoy indoors.
