Howland to host family workshop

The Howland Public Library is Beacon will host a workshop at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, for children ages 6 to 11 and their adult family members called Moving & Writing, Writing & Moving Family Time.

The 90-minute workshop will be led by Anita Rose Merando, an author and elementary teacher at Randolph School, and Elizabeth Castagna, an Alexander Technique teacher and artist. Participants will write after considering a common object, talk about and share the writing in progress, explore the relationship between their bodies, thoughts and writing, and explore attitudes and beliefs about the writing process.

Participants are asked to bring one object that will become the theme for the family’s writing project, writing tools (e.g., pen, pencil, markers, crayons), something to write on (paper, journal, sketchbook). To register, email [email protected] or call 845-831-1134, ext. 103.
