Rick Gedney show opens at RiverWinds

Cold Spring painter Rick Gedney takes inspiration from the Hudson River. Born and raised in the suburbs of New York, he developed an early appreciation for the natural beauty of the Hudson Valley and studied at Franklin College in Indiana under the guidance of realist landscape artist Thomas Locker and abstract expressionist Luigi Crispino.

On Saturday, Oct. 8, the RiverWinds Gallery at 172 Main St. in Beacon will open an exhibit of his latest work with a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. The gallery is open from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Monday.
