Groups collecting toys and food for holidays

The Cold Spring Lions Club and Philipstown Food Pantry are coordinating efforts to distribute toys under the guidance of Anthony Phillips, a Marine veteran and former Cold Spring mayor who has organized the local Toys for Tots campaign for the past 23 years.

Drop-off boxes are located at Drug World, the Putnam County News & Recorder, Early & Critelli, Foodtown, Deb’s Hair Design, Village Deli and Greely Insurance Agency on Route 9. Food donations are accepted at the food pantry at the First Presbyterian Church on Academy Street on Saturdays from 9 to 10 a.m. The last day for holiday drop-off is Dec. 15. If you know of a family in need of holiday toys, call Phillips at 845-265-2850.
