The junior won the 100-meter hurdles in 16.74 seconds and the pentathlon with 2,723 points, which was a personal record and qualified her for the state tournament. Overall she finished 36th of 222 runners in the 800-meter run (2:36.02), eighth in the high jump (4-06), eighth in the long jump (15-10.25) and ninth in the shot put (30-08).

“Abbey is exceptionally hard-working and dedicated,” said Coach AJ McConville. “When she was an eighth-grader she won the pentathlon at the county championship. Last year she made it the state tournament and finished fourth. She could also be a contender  in two or three other events.”
