Speaker to discuss Commodore Kiefer
David Rocco will speak at the Howland Cultural Center on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. about Commodore Dixie Kiefer, the “indestructible man” who died in a plane crash in Mount Beacon in 1945.
Rocco is the coauthor of The Indestructible Man: The True Story of World War II Hero “Captain Dixie.” Kiefer was captain of the carrier Ticonderoga.
